Floored

We're back in business after a slow week around the Fourth of July. One of the most exciting developments is the unveiling of our new (old) floors!

Here's a reminder of what the floors looked like before:

Here's what it looked like after the first round of sanding the 9 coats of paint:

Paintapalooza

Things went from good to awesome with two coats of paint.

We went with a dark red in the library (which we hope doesn't clash with the cherry bookcases coming our way in September):

A warm white in the master bedroom:

A dark green wall for the mirror, sink and vanity in the master bathroom:

More warm white in the hallway:

A bright white for our black-and-white bathroom:

Yellow for the spare bedroom:

And my favorite: a steely blue-gray for the craft room:

A Primer in Primer

The next step was to add primer, for a wintry white look.

In no particular order, we have the top of the stairwell:

The view down the hall:

The server closet:

The HVAC closet:

And two views from inside the library:

The Mud Pit

Our wall situation continued to improve by leaps and bounds with the addition of drywall mud.

Here's the view from the master bedroom into the master bathroom:

And from the bedroom into the hallway:

Here's where the woodstove will go in the library:

Here's the now-contained HVAC unit:
