Staying Cool

I'm not a big fan of air conditioning.

However, I am also not a fan of sleeping on the living room floor. Which is what we did for the entire month of July last year, after setting up our bedroom in the attic and then melting to death in our sleep.

So: we're installing an air handler on the second floor, so that at least all of our bedrooms will stay cool. It's taken a bite out of my craft room, but I think less is actually more when it comes to having a place to hoard art supplies.

Most of the ductwork will be hidden in the ceiling joists, but we'll have a big exposed oval duct running along the exposed steel beam in the library, which (we hope) will complement our steampunk decor.

Bathroom fans are the least glamorous thing ever, but getting them installed was another major milestone this month!
